Dr. Joanna Wright is a gifted archaeologist whose drive and motivation come from a need to answer historic inconsistencies. Orphaned at a very early age, she is raised in a Catholic convent. Her religious upbringing often conflicts with her scientific education, but she is always driven to find the truth. Funded by the Institute for Scientific Studies, she comes across evidence that mankind's beginnings may be completely different than what everyone has been taught. Her research has led her to an artifact which may hold the answers to all her questions, but may also be the reason for mankind's downfall. Dr. Wright battles time and political interference as she travels from Yucatan to remote Norwegian sites, to solve a 200 thousand-year-old puzzle. Not realizing that by solving it, she will awaken the ancient danger that made mankind nearly extinct in the first place. In order to save humanity, she will need to decipher the ancient knowledge as well as the missing pieces of her own past. Her mind will expand beyond anything she could have imagined as she learns to wield the most powerful weapon mankind has ever seen.
