Shannon finds herself on a bus to, who knows where. At that moment, she regrets the rash decision to leave school and Dennis, but something is disturbing her from inside, something that doesn't feel right and it emanates from a deep place. She knows that she has changed, not just psychologically and emotionally, but also physically in a way that is barely detectable... Barely. She thinks that its roots lie in the message that the creatures from sideways told her, that she "will know the way all things are." What could that mean? She stares forward, but every window in the bus is black with a partition that prevents her from looking out the front, and as the bus bumps along, a nagging fear grows as her unknown destination draws near...
