Narendranath Datta who became widely popular as Swami Vivekananda was an Indian monk in the 19th century. He was one of the disciples of Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa who is considered to be a great mystic. Swami Vivekananda was instrumental in the introduction of Indian philosophies and school of thought to the western world. While he is known for his lectures on topics such as Vedanta and Yoga in America, he was also a key contributor towards revival of Hinduism in India.
