Popcorn the Pony is a story about the power of love. Mr. Schultz has put his heart and soul into the beautifully carved carousel horses that have brought joy to many over the years. The smallest of these is Popcorn the Pony whose favorite little boy is Bobby. Bobby is a disabled young boy who needs crutches in order to walk. His parents don't think of Bobby as disabled but as a very special boy. Popcorn also thinks of his friend Bobby as a very special little boy. When Bobby is teased and bullied by the other children, Popcorn's strong love for Bobby brings about a miracle and transforms Popcorn into a "Real Pony" who becomes Bobby's service pony and allows him to travel anywhere he wants to go.
