While visiting his family for the first time since they'd moved to Northern California, Scott Henry, a college sophomore, and his younger sister, Kathy, are called to the master bedroom at the request of their mother, Louise Eddy. Over the next several hours, Louise reveals to Scott and Kathy her recent experiences with a Ouija board and automatic writing. Having discovered the Ouija board at the family's recently purchased mountain cabin, Louise communicated with her deceased ex-husband-Scott and Kathy's father-on her first attempt at contacting the spirit world. Communication via the Ouija board was soon replaced by Louise's proficiency with automatic writing, as was correspondence with the children's father by direct contact with "The Heavenly Father."
