Every day we are confronted by pressures and obstacles that can weigh us down and sometimes even paralyze us from being able to make any headway in life. The problems may seem insurmountable and beyond our control to overcome. In the midst of such trials, we are left feeling confused and helpless, looking for reasons and searching for answers as to what we can do. When we read the story of Jesus walking on the water, we are struck by the contrast of the disciples caught in the rage of a storm from the wind and waves out on the lake they were trying to cross. They were losing ground keeping the water out of the boat and losing hope that they will survive this night without a miracle. Then Jesus appears walking peacefully on the waters. This is the moment the disciples were hoping for. All Jesus needed to do was to get into the boat and calm the storm that threatened them. When we are in the midst of the storms within our lives, we often pray that God would just get in our boats and remove the trial we are facing. Sometimes, like the disciples that night, Jesus stops and bids us come. It's time to get out of our boats and walk on water to Him!
