SANG-MOCK RHEE is making artwork energetically as a poet and essayist, while running a taxation corporation after he got his MBA from Yonsei University and Passed the Tax Accountant Exam. He served as the training head of the Korean Taxation Society and the first chairman of the Research Council for Local Affairs. He taught accounting and tax law two universities. The poet has an unfortunate family history of three older brothers and one uncle missing or abducted during the Korean War. However, each of his verses, composed of metaphorical expressions with a simple and quiet tone, comes to the reader with a long impression containing hidden sadness and pain. He also expresses well his mother's longing for her sons by listening to a wind or running out even in dreams, while burying her sons in her heart. In light of what Kim Sang-il said in his review, "Literature is an effort to create a new territory of desire... The poet Rhee tries to create a new world by recreating his childhood' memories. l want to add my comment that the poet is interested in recreating his own territory through the successful Korean history. - Translator EECHAE RA
