Security agent Mike Phillips links a number of mysterious murders to an ancient Egyptian chest and finds himself caught up in a 28th century plot to cover up a time travel experiment gone wrong. In the course of unravelling the bizarre mystery, he, along with agents from the future are hurled back in time to Ancient Egypt. There, the time travelers must retrieve the Tymamid, a time device, in ord4er to get home and unravel a mystery that threatens to strand them in an alternative time stream while trying to escape Tregan and his mysterious men in dark suits.
