When Cassie and Daniel Eagan find two undelivered letters in an abandoned shack deep in the woods, events are set in motion which radically change their lives and the lives of many others. One of the letters is an apology and proposal from Jacob to his estranged girlfriend, Sarah. Cassie takes up the cause of delivering this letter because she believes the couple still loves each other. Her mission to reunite the ex-lovers is a salve to her pain at the separation of her parents a year earlier. Professor Peter Anderson, Sarah's long-time friend and inventor or the EMSM (a device that can send Morse code signals back in time through a black hole), gets involved in the effort to deliver the letter to Sarah. His involvement brings a twist to the story no one could have anticipated. The other undelivered letter, one steeped in evil, was also from Jacob. It he uncovers an old plot by his ancestors to wipe out an entire family, the Hopes. Daniel takes up the cause of this letter, which includes a map where the Hopes were buried. He follows the map and this choice puts his life in danger. Hope Remains is a story of enduring hope. It's a story of the Hope family and its fight to survive, as they are brought brink of extinction. It's a story of joyous reconciliation, of unswerving redemption through a steady hope. But it is also a story exploring the possibilities of changing an event by sending a message back in time. There's a major twist at the end which sends the story in a whole new direction. If you read Beyond Time and liked it, you'l love Home Remains. It is the continued story of Peter, Jimmy and Alfred, with a whole cast of new characters. The story is based on mysterious true event in the midlands of South Carolina. As with Beyond Time, there are uplifting spiritual aspects, but an appreciation is not required to enjoy the story or the underlining message of hope. I hope you enjoy the story.
