One coyote hound, one mission: what began as an attempt to understand and rehabilitate one rescue dog turned into an exploration of the wider dog world and the special bond that people share with dogs. What do we learn from living and working with a dog? Set in Saskatchewan and based on conversations with dog-owners and professional handlers, Dog-wise shares the secret of living happily with a dog, learning more about ourselves, and applying those lessons to everyday life. In Dog-wise, we meet a range of canines and share their stories--from show, detection and assistant dogs to search and rescue, guardian and sled dogs. We follow herding dogs at work, prepare a dog-team for sledding, and sit in on a therapy dog session. Learn what police dogs have in common with therapy dogs, what hunters and herders share, and what our vets can tell about us from our dogs.
