Giovanni Boldini (December 31, 1842 - July 11, 1931) was an Italian portrait painter, belonging to the Parisian school. Boldini's big break came from a portrait commissioned by Giuseppe Verdi in 1886. Verdi was a Brad Pitt, or a George and Amal Clooney celebrity of the day. Previous to this portrait Boldini had spent years training and mastering his trade in Paris and London, and Holland and Germany 'Giovanni Boldini - People in Paint' is a representation of many of his portraits, oils and watercolor genres.
