This story is not a comic novel, but a story, taken from the diaries and notes of a Corporal in the British Army during the Malayan Emergency in the mid 1950's. During his service in Malaya he drank, wined and dined and mixed with royalty, VIPs and senior officers. The book shows his hilarious and sad adventures during his tour of Malaya, to his marriage to a Malaysian princess, concluding with his deportation from Malaya. He was often referred d to by his Commanding Officer, as (Napoleon) Bonaparte, the little corporal, or Houdini (the trickster)
