From the Author's Note: "Serotiny (ser-rah'-ta-knee) is the retention of seeds until a disaster clears the way for germination and growth. Pine cones are the most well-known serotinous seed-holder-on-ers. "Like pine cones, some of us need a disaster, trauma, disappointment, or stressor in order to discover our growth potential. This book is designed to provide seeds of self-direction and affirmation, especially to those who have been through the toughest of times and yet still have hope about the future.
