It is 1950 and the armed forces of the United States have just been activated. War hasn't been declared, but it will not make any difference to Rob and the other young men being called up to go to the unfamiliar country of Korea. For Jordan, it will mean sending a second son into harm's way, even while news of his first-born unexpectedly arrives. The conflict in Korea will test Rob to the utmost of his strength and resolve, while bringing him under the command of a heroic and unorthodox lieutenant. In Tennessee, Becca will be confronted with an unexpected visitor, Jeff will have to come to terms with his experiences in the last war, while Kenna's son will make an inadvertent introduction to his father. There are major struggles ahead for the McKenna sons, both at home and abroad, and the 1950s are set to bring them major changes, as well.
