Dedicated to getting former Red Sox right fielder Dwight Evans inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame, this book, the first volume in a two volume collection, details the candidacy of Evans, extolling his merits for Cooperstown. Although the primary focus is endeavoring to get Dwight Evans a plaque in the gallery, biographical details are also sketched for other eligible players that the voters have neglected since 1936, when the Hall of Fame conducted its first vote. In this first volume, a Non-Enshrined All-Star Team is named in Chapter Two. The time line in Chapter Three expresses some barren areas in the plaque gallery where voters haven't inducted many men at their respective positions. The remainder of Volume One lists, with career statistics, eligible players at all the infield positions, to include catchers. In some instances, campaigns will be made on their behalf, comparing, for an example, former Cubs catcher Johnny Kling with his enshrined contemporary Roger Bresnahan.
