Increasing Capacity - a Grounded Theory Study
Birgit Monks
This theory explains how people discover and overcome deficiencies. Generally, this process cosnsists of five stages: becoming aware, choosing, considering options, engaging in increasing capacity, and working at ease. Various factors, that may either encourage or discourage people, impact their behaviors throughout the process. In general, people strive for the ability to work at ease. Once they reach this stage, they may realize increasing capacity is a lifelong process. Increasing capacity may assist supervisors or administrators to immediately implement strategies to assist employees choosing action and becoming engaged in the process of increasing capacity.
