Circle Based Model: a New Approach for Image Processing Iqbal Ahmed

This research deals with the English characters recognition system (all the alphanumeric characters) and Basic mathematics symbol by using a newly proposed circle based model (CBM) method. The proposed CBM method gives the geometric definition for all English Alphanumeric characters. All characters recognized by using arc (s), radius (radii) and center of a circle. Any character is recognized by the presence or absence of arc (s), radius (radii) and center. Thus our proposed feature vector consists of eight radii, eight arcs and a center of a character. From CBM we get different index values for distinct characters and using this value any alphanumeric characters can be recognized. The overall efficiency of the CBM is satisfactory to recognize the characters at the specified font. It has been found from the experimental results that the accuracy rate is approximately 96% for all types of character recognition.
