My Life as a Joke
Patrick Newman
Author, Patrick Newman, a born storyteller, is renowned in his private circle for regaling his listeners with stories depicting the funny side of Jamaican life.
In his debut collection of short stories and vignettes, My Life as a Joke: Laugh Till Yuh Belly Buss, the author shares stories that he has heard while growing up in the rural district as well as from his travels throughout the island. These stories are filled with innuendoes, puns and humour that bring the characters and their predicaments to life. The result is a compilation that captures the customs, way of life, traditions, and general mores of what it is to be truly Jamaican.
