Irrelevant and impertinent are two adjectives that can be used to describe Chris and Kirsten Clifford. Raised in a futuristic society where magic is known to be a thing of the ancient past, the soon-to-be eighteen year old twin siblings were deprived of the 'normal' and vivacious childhood they had always imagined, ending up being outcasts in their family, neighborhood and community. The lifestyles their parents conducted were complicated and mature, and on one dreary afternoon filled with all sorts of suspicious extracurricular activities, Chris and Kirsten find out exactly why. Enchanted creatures don't exist...or so they were told to believe. The seven sins have always been ideology and symbolism, and these were simple facts that the twins were educated to perceive. This, though, is the farthest from the truth. They are yanked into a world filled with treacherous secrets, absurd devils, ghoulish creatures, and beautiful strangers. Thrown into a society that hadn't even imagined to exist, as the life they had always known seems to trickle out of existence, the two teenagers will come to realize that the cost of pursuing adventure will come with serious consequences.
