On September 30 1965 there was an attempted coup in Indonesia. Until now the accepted history has been that the attempted coup was staged by the Indonesian Communist Party. In the wake of the failure by the Indonesian Communist Party to seize power Suharto who was a General in the Indonesian Armed Forces assumed power and went on to rule Indonesia for the next 30 years. This version of history is false. There was a coup on the night of September 30 1965 and this book sets out in meticulous detail who planned and executed the coup and why.
