In the baking heat of August 2016, Antje Margarethe Mutz starts a new job in Vientiane, the capital of Laos. She moves to Southeast Asia with her family of five: her husband Gerhard, their young sons Vincent and Frederik, as well as two dogs. Only three weeks into their presumably exciting new adventure, tragedy strikes when one of the dogs dies. Seeing the misery of the dogs in Vientiane, Antje befriends a small group of passionate dog rescuers. When her path crosses the fate of an injured young German shepherd dog, who had a terrible accident, saving Doley becomes a challenge for the whole family ...
