God is interested in the whole person. When the word of God states that God wishes above all that we prosper andbe in health even as our soul prospers, he means just that. Being in good physical health, and prosperity of the souland spirit are necessary if we are to live effective lives as Christians. In fact, wholeness for the body, soul, and spirit areprerequisites for each of us in order to fulfill our purpose. The woman with the issue of blood whose brief story is recordedin the book of Matthew, chapter 9, is a Biblical example of someone who reached out through a crowd of circumstancesand persevered in order to be made totally whole. This woman realized there was something special for her in thegarment and in the hem of the garment of Christ. It was so special that she defied the rules of man to reach the heartof God. The specific blessings she pursued were founded in the echoes from her history, which provided a voice and anaction of faith in her present that changed her life forever.
