Monae` Green was in the prime of her life; young, beautiful, and one of the best fashion designers in the HipHop industry. Having had her share of ballers, players, and rappers, she knew to steer clear and legitimately focus on the business and career she'd worked tirelessly to build. Monae` managed to stand by her word, at least until she came face to face with popular rapper, Devin "Static" Hampton. From the moment he set foot in her office, Devin's intentions were clear; he wanted her. Despite Monae's attempts to ignore Devin's advances, she quickly came to the realization that she was just as attracted to him as he was to her. Admitting and submitting to the feelings and lust brought over her by the humble thoughts of Devin, Monae` quickly found herself entangled in his love and mesmerized by his lies. Though the lies were evident, and having knowledge that Devin was still very much a playboy, Monae` still took his hand in marriage. Becoming Mrs. Hampton was everything she'd dreamed of, until it wasn't. A ride home quickly turned physical and Monae` gains confirmation of Devin's true colors. His unexpected physical aggression sends Monae` bailing out of the passenger side of their car and running to the nearest house for help. Though the family she sought refuge with begs her not to go back, Devin convinced her to return home. Her return home was met with more physical altercations and a series of cheating. But Monae` fights back, calling Devin out on his ways, ultimately deciding she had to do something to stop it all. With the love they once shared ruined and friendships destroyed, revenge was the only thing on Monae's mind, proving there's truly a thin line between sane and insanity.
