Tryla is a historic fiction during the turbulent period of English history in the eighth hundred. The Viking invasion of 865 was one that affected much of the island. Born to a pig farmer, Rorik, who has lost two sons and a daughter to Vikings and wayward nobles, lord of the shire Edmund, notices Tryla and falls in love. But neither Rorik nor Tryla fall easily for Edmund's social status as son of Lord Alfred, his charm, in a society strongly divided between the filthy rich and the dirt poor. He will have to prove his love worthy of hers. Tryla is a novel about class division, war and love, the elite versus the poor, bondage to the state, and abuse of power. It is about one young woman's relentless fight to right the wrong, goodness against evil. Based on historic events of its time, Tryla skillfully portrays a society, not far for modern times, in which big government and corruption has ruined the people's right to life, liberties, and happiness.
