In 2003, First Lieutenant Mike Scotti found himself at the forefront of one of the most notorious and complex military campaigns of our time; Operation Iraqi Freedom. Having volunteered to extend his service with the American Marine Corps six months earlier, Scotti filmed his journey to the Iraqi Capital City on his personal mini DV-camera, capturing over 60 hours of footage.



On his return to the United States, Scotti left the footage in the capable hands of documentary filmmaker Kristian Fraga, which she edited to down to this first-hand account of the war as it’s fought on the ground.
