Complete Swing Time & Down Beat Recordings / Var
This double CD release races Ray Charles' formative years, collecting 45 recordings that reveal his evolution as a singer, pianist and songwriter. Blending blues, jazz, gospel and early R&B, these sessions capture the soulful piano, distinctive voice and inventive musicianship that laid the foundation for one of American music's most influential careers.
