Together, Anderson .Paak and Bruno Mars pulls threads back to Motown and with their debut album An Evening With Silk Sonic they deliver a undeniable soul masterpiece. They don't break new ground musically, but it has been decades since we have had such a pure and genuine soul / R'n'B album. It's like stepping into a time machine and being hauled back to the 60s and 70s - the material feels familiar (in the best way imaginable), but the songs are brand new.
