Steely Dans' debut album "Can't Buy A Thrill" has definitely earned its place in various best lists like "Rolling Stone's" "500 Greatest Albums of All Time". Songs like "Do It Again" and "Reelin' In The Years" with the wonderful guitar solo of guest musician Elliot Randall (which, by the way, is one of Led Zeppelins' Jimmy Page's favorite solos) kicked off Steely Dan's career. The album differs from the band's subsequent releases not least in its use of blue-eyed soul singer David Palmer as lead vocalist, but also in the only tentative jazz flourishes that characterize later albums.

This reissue of the platinum-embellished 1972 album as an Ultra High Quality Record at 45 rpm was mastered by audio engineering legend Bernie Grundman. The release is limited to 20,000 numbered copies.
