Swan Silvertones
Featuring close barbershop harmonies and the virtuoso lead singing of front-man Claude Jeter, The Swan Silvertones became the most popular gospel group in America during the 1940's, 1950's and into the 1960's. Their music was so energized and inspired that they attracted fans of soul music, R&B, and rock n' roll and influenced vocal groups of all genre's, including the Staple Singers and James Brown. These classic recordings from the mid-1950's captures the Vocal Group Hall of Famers at their sanctified best. All selections newly remastered.
