Marillion has never minced words when it comes to dealing with difficult themes in their songs, where they may address personal, political and/or social issues. The gloomy title of their new album is - consciously or unconsciously - strangely apt for the time we live in, where the sensation that darkness waits just around the corner is something most people can recognise to some extent.
