Quartet 1000 brings together four highly acclaimed improvisers from the Netherlands (Wilbert de Joode - bass), USA (Michael Vatcher - drums), Germany (Jan Klare - sax) and Belgium (Bart Maris - trumpet) who have played with all the biggest names in the improvised music. Their approach is adventurous, virtuoso and surprising at all times. Most of the band's repertoire is composed by the leader Jan Klare whose pieces are characterized by strong structures while the instruments constantly shift between leading and accompanying roles.
