Embarking on a new journey with his first ever solo album, Vince Clarke, an icon of the synthpop era as an early songwriter in Depeche Mode and part of the duo Erasure for almost 40 years, unveils a remarkable new facet of his musical brilliance with "Songs of Silence". In this project project, Clarke explores an untouched avenue of ambient electronic beauty, diverging significantly from his celebrated electropop heritage to craft an album that stands in a realm of its own.

In "Songs of Silence", you are invited to experience a soundscape that is both richly evocative and lyricless. The album exhibits a sheer mastery over its chosen medium, evoking a cosmic remoteness through synth-generated narratives that resonate profoundly in their silence. Clarke embraced a stringent yet inspired approach during the creation of this album, adhering to two fundamental rules that would govern the essence of this project. Firstly, the auditory tapestry woven throughout the album emanates exclusively from sounds generated by a Eurorack, a modular synthesizer format that emerged in the mid-90s. Secondly, each track unfurls around a single, resonant note, maintaining a cohesive key that binds the piece together in harmonic unity.
