Cale's signature sound with the Velvets was purposefully rough and aurally challenging, but Vintage Violence is a startlingly user-friendly piece of mature, intelligent pop with a smooth, satin finish. The Welsh rocker shows a pop craftsman at work on ten tracks that reference everything from Country Rock to Beach Boys harmonies to The Band-style Americana and beyond. Vintage Violence is available as a limited edition of 1000 individually numbered copies on crystal clear vinyl.
