Once again, Real Tone proves that it's on one of the most relevant label of our times with this fantastic new release by GUMMIHZ. The guy comes from Greece but he works and lives in Berlin, and certainly his music is deeply inspired by the city artistic explosion. This is the perfect bridge from the classical US deep house sound and the actual European electronic avant-garde - at the same time sophisticated and raw, a splendid collection of accomplished modern music. Following his release on EARTHRUMENTAL MUSIC aptly titled "High On Percussion", GUMMIHZ is back on REAL TONE RECORDS with "Basic Elements Vol.1". The first of a series featuring tracks reminiscent of the raw grooves of NY house in the 90's. This four tracker is full of fat bumpy grooves that comprise some excellent floor fillers. On the a-side "Freaky" is a highly energetic house groove, quite raw with a characteristic "stab" carrying the listener throughout the track. "Give me" carries a similar energy with a vocal constantly urging you to give more and more on the dance floor. The sort of track that will let a few hands loose. On the b-side "Jus Got" preserves the same atmosphere with a hidden bass stab constantly keeping the tension rising. "Organ talk" is all about the classic NY house feeling. Playful claps, screams and shouts come and go on top of a very classic and tight organ groove. All in this 4 tracker! will be one of the records which you will always remember to pull out of your bag and straight on the turntable, for sometime to come.
