White On Blonde was the band's first number one on the Albums Charts and became their biggest seller with top ten hits like "Say What You Want", "Halo", "Black Eyed Boy" and "Put Your Arms Around Me". Vocalist Sharleen Spiteri and company traffic in various avenues of music, including Motown sounds on the title track and rock on the track "Postcard". The album closes with the superb "Breathless."
